Terms of Use

Effective August 4, 2026

DIALED Contractor is published by AC Media Group LLC. By using this site you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, not skimmed past.

What this site is

An independent publication covering technology for residential and light commercial contractors. We publish editorial coverage, a product directory, a contractor panel, a podcast, and video field tests.

Our editorial standards are at /standard. Those standards are part of these terms.

What we publish, and what it is

We do not rate software. We record what a product is and what it claims, with sources and dates, and we publish what contractors report about using it. The judgment is theirs, not ours.

Directory facts are sourced and dated. Retention figures are computed from member-reported status. Published comments are the opinions of the contractors who wrote them, not ours.

None of it is professional advice and none of it is a warranty. Software changes, prices change, and companies change hands. Verify anything that matters before you spend money on it. A page on this site is not a substitute for a demo, a trial, a reference call, or a lawyer reading your contract.

We are not liable for business decisions you make after reading something here.

The panel

If you register your stack:

  • You confirm the information is about a real business you own or work for
  • You confirm you are not being paid or compensated by any company you report on
  • We publish aggregate figures derived from your status: retention counts, adoption patterns, cost medians, segmented by trade and revenue band. Never below a sample of five.
  • We never publish your individual stack, your exact revenue, or your reported costs
  • We contact you roughly quarterly to confirm your status. You can stop at any time.
  • If you delete your account, you are removed from all future aggregates

What you submit

Panel status and data

You grant us the right to include your reported status in aggregate figures, indefinitely, in any medium. Aggregates contain no identifying information and cannot be traced back to you.

Written comments

You keep ownership of what you write. Each comment carries a visibility setting you choose and can change at any time:

SettingWhat it means
CountedNot published. Default.
SharedPublished without your name, attributed to trade and revenue band
SignedPublished with your name and company

For comments set to Shared or Signed, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to publish, edit for length and clarity, and archive that comment while the setting remains in place. Changing the setting to Counted revokes it. We remove the published comment.

You also confirm that what you wrote is your own honest experience, that nobody asked you or paid you to write it, and that it does not contain anyone else's confidential information, anything covered by an NDA you signed, or customer data belonging to your clients.

Everything else

Nominations, tips, corrections, questions, and pitches: you keep ownership and grant us the right to publish, edit, and archive. We may decline to publish anything, and we may remove anything later. You can withdraw a submission by emailing us. No conditions.

What you may not do

  • Submit false, paid, or coordinated reports. This is the one thing that would break the panel, and we will publish the fact that it happened.
  • Register an account that does not correspond to a real business, or hold more than one account.
  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the directory or the panel. If you want the data, email us and we will talk about it.
  • Impersonate a contractor, a vendor, or us.
  • Nominate a company to harass it rather than to learn something.
  • Use anything here to train a machine learning model without written permission.
  • Republish our content wholesale. Quote us, link to us, and credit us. That is welcome.

Accounts we identify as coordinated, fake, or vendor-operated are removed and excluded from published figures.

Corrections

If we published something factually wrong, tell us at corrections@dialedcontractor.com with the specifics.

We correct errors of fact on the page with a dated note explaining what changed. We do not silently edit and we do not remove a piece because a subject dislikes it.

Vendors may submit corrections to factual directory fields at any tool's correction page. Corrections are limited to facts: pricing, ownership, integrations, team size, security posture. Corrections cannot change a contractor's reported status, a published comment, a retention figure, or a Field Test result.

Field Tests and challenges

Participation is governed by a separate written agreement between AC Media Group LLC and the participating vendor. Public terms are at /field-test.

The core ones: publication is unconditional, no vendor reviews an episode before it airs, and the fee buys the test and has never bought a result.

Reader funding

Contributions fund the work. They are not tax deductible. AC Media Group LLC is a for-profit company.

Contributions do not purchase coverage, placement, a directory entry, or any influence over what we publish. We do not accept contributions from companies we cover, including through their employees or customers, and we refund those we identify.

Monthly contributions can be cancelled at any time.

Third-party links

We link to vendor sites, documentation, and privacy policies. We do not control those and we are not responsible for them. When we quote a document, we date the quote, because those documents change.

Company names and trademarks

We write about named companies and their products. Company names and trademarks belong to their owners, and we use them for identification and commentary. Nothing here implies endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship in either direction.

No warranty

This site is provided as-is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, AC Media Group LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site. Our total liability is limited to $100.

Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana. Disputes go to the state or federal courts of Indiana.

There is no mandatory arbitration clause and no class action waiver in these terms. We flag those in our directory as terms contractors should watch for. It would be dishonest to bury them in our own.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are posted with a new effective date and announced to members and subscribers. Continued use of the site does not constitute consent to changed terms.
